Sei Shōnagon is petty, condescending, amusing, poetic, witty and always opinionated. A wonderful and entertaining glimpse into life at Court in Heian era Japan.

beautiful pictures, Tanabata. It's amazing how much detail you captured of the eyes and wings.
BYW, does your name mean something? Is it Canadian, Japanese, or some other origin. Mine, Cheya, is Japanese and means someone who is dear or special to you. Have you heard it?
Thanks! Tanabata is just my online name but yes it has meaning, at least for us. I posted about it last month. See http://tanabata.blogspot.com/2006/07/tale-of-tanabata.html
or you can find it in the July archives.
I haven't heard of Cheya. I'll have to ask my husband. :)
