  1. Even though this is in Kyoto, it reminds me of a scene from The Pianist. Or even from my current read (The Book Thief). I love the emotion of the photograph.

  2. Great pic. Nice combination of colors. And thanx for that "dog research".

  3. You've got such a great eye - I really enjoy your pictures. Is photography a hobby with you, or does it have to do with your line of work?

  4. Gorgeous! This is a perfect choice for sepia - gives it a real "old-timey" look!

  5. Thanks guys.
Lotus, it's purely a hobby and I'm very much an amateur! Thanks though. :P

  6. I beg to differ. You are far from an amateur!

  7. Hi I'm new here. I live near this alley but it looks very different. It is interesting to see scenery through another person's eyes. Beautiful photo!

  8. Les, you're so sweet, but I have to disagree! ;p
On the technical side of things I have so much to learn, and you don't see all the 'rejects'! That's the thing I love about digital, you can take hundreds of photos and then just delete all the bad ones later.

o_6, thanks for stopping by. I just had a look at your blog and you have some great pictures. I would love to live in Kyoto! I probably wouldn't like the summer weather very much but it's truly one of my favourite places. :)

  9. Nat,

Did you, by any chance, nominate my Alaska blog for a Blog of the Day Award? If so, thank you!!

And, about your photos . . . You've got a great eye for placement; I think that's half the battle in photography. Professionals have rejects, too! My wedding photographer wasn't half as good as you are!!! You're very, very good at photography!!

And yup, that was me and you deserve it for all the fabulous pictures!

Thanks so much for the nomination and the kind words!! It was so unexpected - I really got a kick out of that award!!
