From the Stacks Challenge - Completed!

As you can see from my original list, I didn't manage to read any of the 'extra credit' books (although I should hopefully get to a few of them this year in various other challenges), but I did successfully read all 5 books I set out to for this challenge! Yay, me!

To read my reviews of the 5 books seen above, click on the appropriate book title:
About Grace
Roxanna Slade
The History of Love
Plum Wine
The Fall of Light

My favourite of the bunch is probably The History of Love, but I also really enjoyed About Grace, and The Fall of Light, and actually rated them the same so it's pretty close. The only one I didn't really care for is Roxanna Slade, but 1 out of 5 isn't bad at all, and I'm very happy to have these no longer languishing in the TBR stacks. Thanks to Michelle at overdue books for organising the challenge, you made 5 books stop feeling neglected!

  1. About Grace was one of my favorite books last year. I just LOVED it and still think about it from time to time. I have never met anyone else who has read it, or even heard of it for that matter. I don't know why he is not a more popular author!!

  3. Lisa - Have you read anything else by him? I got it through a British book mag that I subscribe to, but hadn't heard of him before.

Nessie - If you'd like to join in, that would be great. It's a pretty specific challenge, being only Japanese books, so I set it for myself and didn't really expect anyone to play along. I decided on 12 but you could adapt that number to whatever suits you. Feel free to copy the button if you'd like and I'll look forward to your reviews. :)

  4. Congratulations!

I just finished reading my fifth book (haven't posted about it yet) but I didn't manage to get to any of my 'extra credit' books either. But hey, that's five books read that have been languishing on our TBR shelves!

  5. hey. I think all else he has is a short story collection??? I can't remember. This is all I've read from him, but I'd love to read more.

  6. Congrats on completing the challenge! I'm going to miss it by one book. I do have About Grace on my list. I like the sound of that one.

  7. Lesley - Exactly! I'm looking forward to getting some more long-term TBR books read this year through some of the other challenges.

Lisa - hm, I think I might've known that, but forgot. Short stories might be interesting. Will have to look for it.

Iliana - Thanks. You were close! Does on your list mean your wishlist or already bought? Cause I have an extra copy that I got for free, and would like to pass on. I really should join BookMooch one of these days.
