slow going

It's already the 10th, and I'm still working on my first book of the month! I'm never a very fast reader but I'm starting to feel antsy, wanting to move on to my next book. That's not to say that I'm not enjoying The Good Earth, because I am, very much. But I can't help thinking about the other books waiting for me, and the Classics Challenge deadline coming up!
I didn't get much reading done while away, which is part of it. On top of that is the fact that I haven't been feeling that great and today I'm feeling downright lousy, which means I'm also having a hard time concentrating and/or staying awake. I actually caught whatever this is just before going to Sapporo, but managed to keep it somewhat at bay, until today that is! Blah!!!
I'd also intended to work on the bookmarks today, but when I started getting out the stuff, I found I just didn't have the energy. So please bear with me, I haven't forgotten and will get to them soon.
I'm off to curl up and attempt to read some more. Pictures of some of the snow sculptures from the Snow Festival coming up next.

  1. I know how you feel. I finished a couple of books right at the very beginning of the month (they really could have been finished on the 31st!) and now am reading one for the Chunkster Challenge and it feels like I'll be reading it for the entire month! Probably not, but it feels that way.

Sorry to hear that you're not feeling well. I had the crud last month for over two weeks and there's nothing better than finally feeling healthy again. I hope you feel well again soon! Don't worry about the bookmarks or even blogging. Take care of yourself and enjoy your reading. We'll be here when you come back. :)

  2. Hope you feel better soon! Looking forward to the snow sculpture pictures.

  3. Nat,

Sorry you're feeling lousy. I know that antsy feeling. I've read a few short books but when I just concentrate on one dense book, it drives me nuts. That's why I've always got something else on the side. Great Expectations will probably take me forever to finish.

Love your new sidebar items! Sending get well hugs. Don't worry about the bookmarks - just take care of yourself.

  4. Les, thank you! Blogging is a nice distraction, though. The Good Earth isn't even that long really, and reads easily so that's also making me feel like I should've been done it by now! But I managed to stay awake and get a fair chunk read last night, so I should finish it today! :)

    Heather, thank you.

Nancy, thanks. They're fun, aren't they? I've been playing hangman! I should really thank Bluestalking Reader, since she has some of these in her sidebar and I thought I'd see about adding them to mine.
