early bloomers

Last Sunday, we went to the Matsuda* sakura matsuri (cherry blossom festival). Situated on a hill that gets considerable sun, this area is known for its early blooming cherry trees.
*Matsuda is about an hour and a half south of Tokyo

  3. Bellezza - Glad to brighten your day! :)

Les - Another blizzard? I would've been happy with some snow here this winter but I'm enjoying the pink blossoms (just have to make sure to take my daily dose of Claritin).

  7. Nancy, luckily, or not I'm not sure, but I don't seem to get itchy eyes here- different pollens I guess. Instead my hayfever here tends to be occasional sneezing and then stuffed up sinuses. Not crazy about the stuffed up sinuses part but what can ya do?

  8. Baths in sea salt. That seems to help me with the sinuses. Otherwise, grin and bear it, take an OTC allergy pill if you can find one and hang in there till the next winter. It's a loooong time away!

  9. Nancy,
You're so right about winter being very very far away! :(
As for allergy pills, I always stock up when I go to Canada so we're doing ok. Japanese allergy meds aren't very strong.
