Harry-induced slump

Or as Heather calls it 'Post-Potter Syndrome'! I haven't read much of anything (only a few articles in magazines, and a chapter or so of my NF book) since finishing Harry Potter on Sunday afternoon! I've been so immersed in Harry's world over the last few weeks, I'm feeling a bit adrift! I hope to be able to move on to something new soon but in the meantime, for those who have finished, Dewey has started a blog to discuss Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Click on the image below to visit the blog, and BEWARE as spoilers are rampant.

  1. It's kind of sad, isn't it?? It seems like a good friend has left. Oh well!! It was fun while it lasted!!

By the way. I tagged you for a meme about blogging. It's very different and kind of fun!

  2. I know how you feel! I just finished DH this morning (I tried to finish last night, but finally succumbed to sleep at 1.30am). I've even dreamed about HP over the last few weeks, since I often tend to dream about what I'm reading before I fall asleep. Now I'm looking at my bookshelves, wondering...what next?

  3. I know how you feel. I managed to finish a short story book I'd started before, and then I started a Discworld novel, and even though Terry Pratchett is one of my very favourite authors, I'm having trouble getting into it. Leaving the world of Harry Potter has been hard indeed.

  4. I know exactly how you feel. Well, let's be frank, I have no excuse. I started reading a really good mystery novel but I just can't seem to get into anything. The only reason I did Harry Potter [*snort} that sounds kinkier than I'd imagine] was to see how it would all wrap up.

I'm on a reading slump and I know I can't blame it on Harry. Then again maybe I will. LOL.

  5. Stephanie,
It is quite sad, knowing that there will be no more adventures in Harry's world. You're very right though- it was a great ride while it lasted.
I'll come check out the meme.

    Nyssaneala,
I've had various HP-related dreams over the last couple of weeks too! Good luck with your next read. Only today have I finally been able to start a new book.

    Nymeth,
Today I've started a mystery set in Japan and so far it's going ok. Hopefully the Harry slump is ending.

    Mailyn,
Go on, blame him if you like! ;p

  6. Nat, your love for Harry Potter is so contagious!!! I'm glad you're having such a good time with the new book. It's going to be hard coming out of that world...do it gradually, there's no rush, you might as well savor it, especially as this is the last book, or is it?

  7. Lotus,
Part of it is definitely because I was so immersed in the books in the last few weeks. Even before the last one I was having Hogwarts-themed dreams! :P
