BAFAB: a book and a ... hand!

*Sticky Post (scroll down for newer stuff)

It's Buy a Friend a Book Week again! This time the book up for grabs is Strangers by Taichi Yamada. I read it for last year's R.I.P. Challenge, so it's been read once but is still like new, and while I didn't love it (didn't hate it either), it's had some good reviews. (Click on the title above to read the reviews at Amazon). Plus it's a slim book that won't take too much time to read. So I'm hoping someone will enjoy it!
As an added bonus, since I received 2 of them with my recent poppet purchases, I'll include one of Lisa Snellings-Clark's disembodied hand bookmarks.

If you're interested please leave a comment on this post by Friday, October 5th, and I'll draw a name sometime during the day on Saturday, October 6th. And remember that anyone anywhere can enter.

I'd love to win the book - thanks! You can get a hold of me over at www.blogginboutbooks.blogspot.com. Thanks again!

I didn't think I'd be interested, but after reading that David Mitchell blurbed it, and about the comparisons to Murakami and "The Time Traveler's Wife", and its themes of loss and impermanence, it seems like it would be my kind of thing.

Susan, ok got your name down.

Teresa, I have to admit I thought I'd like it more than I did because of the David Mitchell quote but I probably just missed something.

Debi, thanks! I thought it was kinda fun for the season. Enjoy your orange poppet!

Cathrine, it's fun. :)

Janet, of course I don't mind. This is only my 2nd time to join in. Check out the main blog for more info.

Kailana, you still could!

Ideru, consider yourself counted.

LisaMM, LOL! That's ok.

Donna, will do. :)

Ooh please add me in the drawing. That book sounds very cool and not to mention that disembodied hand bookmark is a must-have :)

Enter my name. If the book wasn't enough to entice me (which it was), the bookmark sealed the deal. :)

tanabata on Wed Oct 03, 10:15:00 PM said...

Iliana, I didn't know what to call it, but I guess 'disembodied' works! And yes, everyone really should have one! ;)

Kookie,
Your name is duly entered. :)

Literary Feline on Thu Oct 04, 01:01:00 PM said...

I would like to enter your drawing, Tanabata. :-) Thanks so much. The bookmark is neat--both book and bookmark are perfect for the season.

びっくり, I'm pretty sure I could manage sending to Mie Prefecture if you win. It would definitely be the closest destination.

Literary Feline, I'm having such fun with Autumn/RIP themed reads right now, I wanted to share the joy! :)

BooksPlease, I've added your name.

Jenclair, your name is on the list.

I adore those Snellings-Clark bookmarks! So much so that I'm afraid to use them. They might get bent. :(

Andi, you could always laminate the paper bit to make it stiffer. :)

booklogged, hehe! Your hand/name has been added!
