a sprinkle of snow

We actually got a bit of snow yesterday instead of the forecast rain. Course it didn't stick around very long and there's hardly any trace left today, but here are a couple of pictures taken at the nearby shrine as proof.

  1. This wouldn't be seen as a 'bit' of snow in the UK, it would bring the entire country to a stand still :)

  4. Great shots! I really like the composition in the tree shot. Where did you live in Canada? I'm in Nova Scotia.

  6. That shrine looks beautiful. I like the tree, too. Wonderful perspective. I like the way you find a whole image from a vast possibility like a tree. Well done.

  7. I like the way you framed the tree and told a whole story through one great part of the whole.

Beautiful shrine. What a dramatic photo with all that snow.

  12. I wish I could say we just got a bit of snow!! We seem to be blanketed in the nasty white stuff!! Of course, yesterday, we had Thunder Snow!! It was really cool to watch. Lightning and Thunder...and a virtual blizzard!!

  15. Table Talk- I can imagine! Tokyoites aren't used to snow much now either. There were apparently lots of accidents from slipping and falling.

Nancy J. Bond- I've lived away for 10 years now but I grew up in a small town in Manitoba, then we moved to Victoria when I was around 14. That's where I call 'home'. We visited Nova Scotia once a very long time ago. :)

Sandy- Thank you. You always say the nicest things about my photos!

Janet- Those photos are great!! :-)

Andi- Not even a flake? I feel for you! That was us last year. We had a little bit of snow a couple of weeks ago too but that day it soon turned into rain.

Stephanie- Thunder snow? Sounds cool. Not to be out in but to watch from inside. :P

  16. Gee I love visiting and checking out your snow pics! I'm totally fascinated! I imagine its a total pain to get around in, but its looks so pretty! I think it might be time for me to visit the northern hemisphere in winter! :D

  17. Ooooh, envious! So pretty! Thanks for sharing, even though I'm just so darned green with envy, here. We've had rain for about 3 weeks (maybe 2 sunny days). Ugh, ugh, ugh.

  18. Andi can come to Nebraska if she wants snow. We had yet another storm yesterday. Got between 6-8 inches of the white stuff.

Les, who is going to refrain from whining about winter. Really. ;)

  19. Cass- I'm sure I would get sick of slogging through snow for several months but I've been away from any real snowy place for so long that I'm always excited to get some. You've definitely got to experience it once in your life! :)

Nancy- It really didn't last very long, unfortunately. The weather has been really weird here lately, it keeps fluctuating wildly. We did have a nice sunny day today though. Hope you get some soon.

    Gentle Reader- Me too! :)

Les- It's ok. I'm always whining in the summer when it's hot and awful out. :P
