Sunday Salon: Time, or the lack thereof

Just a really quick post this week. Not much to report, unfortunately. I did pick up Perfume but I haven't had a lot of time to read this past week, so I'm only about half way in at the moment. I got my August in Review post up this week but I never got around to posting either of the reviews that are pending. Soon though, hopefully.

One of the things eating into my time lately is my photo blog. I'm enjoying visiting other members of the community where it's hosted and looking at lots of great pictures but it's cutting into my reading and blogging time! Like blogging wasn't already cutting into my reading time! Argh. And it'll get even worse when the weather cools off and we spend most of our weekends out taking pictures. Ah well, who needs sleep?!

And speaking of time, I mentioned it to H and I'm thinking of joining in the next Read-a-thon! (You can read more about it here). The time difference may be a bit of a problem so I'll decide for sure a little closer to the date but it does sound fun and a nice excuse to do nothing but read!

Well, I'm sure you're very aware that Book Blogger Appreciation Week starts tomorrow. Amy has done a fabulous job organizing everything, it promises to be great! Also starting tomorrow I'll be having a giveaway of a signed copy of Matrimony by Joshua Henkin. So if you haven't yet got hold of a copy, make sure to stop by tomorrow to enter. Hope everyone has a wonderful week!

Waaaaaaaaaaaaa......time!!!! it is eating into my reading to and I do not like when i rush through a book, I like to get into the book and let the story take over me.
The photo blog has unbelievably nice photos and from all over the world. It also shows photos in their best light, we pay so much attention to how we photograph subjects and I believe this site is the best yet I have found which does credit to our time taking photos.
I am probably going to miss Sunday Salon, I am going to read and watch a movie, next week I am looking forward to eating in a upscale Japanese restaurant and HOPE to take photos of my dishes. Last time I tried this the boss came out and asked me why I was doing this, was something in the food??? I have no luck in this area.
We'll see

Ok all of you who have read this have a wonderful week and I hope you win some goodies this includes you Nat :) and I :) Thank-you so much Amy!!!
Looks like I posted my Sunday Salon on your post...
Back to my book "MIDDLESEX" the 4th for Carl.

Oh I hear ya on the dwindling time. I desperately need to step away from the computer and settle in with a book.

How are you finding Perfume, Nat?

I wish the Readathon was the weekend before--I might have been able to participate then. Oh well. I can't do everything, can I?

I hope you have a great week!

Madeleine- It's a really nice photo community. I like the fact that there are people from all over the world but boy is it taking up some of my time.

I hope you have a nice meal at the Japanese restaurant. That's kind of sad that the boss immediately assumed something negative about you taking pictures, instead of thinking it was because the food was good and/or nicely presented.

I really enjoyed Middlesex when I read it a few years ago. How are you liking it?

Terri- You signed up at Aminus? Please let me know your name over there, I'd love to come visit.

Andi- Yes, I think I'm going to shut down the computer now, ignore the Google Reader and email and whatnot and just read for a bit. Too many distractions, I tell ya!

Wendy- I've enjoyed what I've read of Perfume so far, which isn't nearly as much as I would like though. I hope to read some more today.
That's too bad that you can't participate in the Read-a-thon. But you're right, maybe next time.

I just started MIDDLESEX and so far so good, Wendy e-mailed me yesterday evening to tell me to hurry and review it or she'll start to fidget. I think i am going to have a good read, I have read so many short books lately I need a long book.
Hope your week started out well, here the heat hit close to 100 yesterday :((((

Madeleine- It's a good saga type story. Long but enjoyable to read. I think you'll really like it. :)
My week has started off ok. Monday was actually a national holiday so that's always nice. It's was a bit cooler after the rain last night but the sun's out now heating things up again.

regarding taking pics in restaurants: I have recently started doing this since my new blog has 2 areas of focus: reading and eating... two of my passions!

I am slowly learning how to take better food photos and to get over my shyness of taking pics of the food. Hopefully as time goes on my pics will get better.

The only bad thing about Sunday Salon and now BBAW is that I'm finding way more blogs to visit :)

Someone quickly needs to figure out how to add more hours to the day!

mangomissives- Taking good photos of food can be hard sometimes, I find, especially if the lighting in a restaurant is a bit dark.
Eating is definitely one of my husband's main passions! :P

Iliana- Tell me about it?!!! I keep finding more blogs to visit but there's no way I'll be able to keep up with all of them!
