It's Tuesday...

Last week I was in Japan (Rashomon by Ryunosuke Akutagawa) but now I'm in a small town in Connecticut where I'm preparing to move out of the house I'd been living in with my son. The older man who I'd been sharing the house with, my landlord, died suddenly (not a spoiler, it happens in the first chapter) and his son wants me out so he can sell it as soon as possible. (Kissing Games of the World by Sandi Kahn Shelton)

Life was good. He made plane reservations for himself and Christopher for the following Saturday and did a couple of handsprings, ripped two more boards from the porch steps, and went into the house and started taking down the wallpaper using an ice scraper he found in a kitchen drawer. He was never going to be so glad to get away from a place in his entire life. (p. 186, Kissing Games of the World by Sandi Kahn Shelton)

  1. Hummm sounds interesting. I'll have to look into this one. Hope you post a review.

  2. I like that teaser. It says quite a bit and now I'm curious about the book.

  3. This book sounds good. I like the way you tied the same book together in the two memes.

  4. Good quote! Handsprings ... hmmm.

  5. I got my Japan calendar. I love it! My husband liked your photos too :o)

  6. I skipped "It's Tuesday..." I have a bad flu, the screen is hard on my headache. I am still here :)

  7. Sounds like someone is relishing the thought of starting over.
    Cool title, good teaser!

  8. Wow - interesting teaser! I take it he doesn't like where he is living.

  9. Hey you! Happy Wednesday! I wanted to let you know that I left you an award on my blog.

  10. Beth F - I review all the books I read but this one I read for a blog tour and my review will be up on the 27th.

Wendy - Glad I made you curious! I'm done now, it was a pretty good read. :)

Margot - I picked up the quote first so then when I was typing out the other one I realised I could tie them together. Glad it worked.

Terri B. - LOL. I know! I kind of wondered about the handsprings too. And I'm so glad you like the calendar! I think I already thanked you but thanks again for buying one! :)

Sylvie - Sorry to hear you have the flu, that's never fun. :(
Hope you feel better very soon.

Wanda - I'm actually not crazy about the title of the book, but it was a very enjoyable read.

Wendi B. - That's an understatement, although there is some acceptance later one. :)

saveophelia - Hey yourself! Thank you again for the award. :)

  11. I can't believe I never noticed that apostrophe before! It would have bugged me too, and I usually notice that sort of thing. Thanks for updating it and making it in the first place.

  12. raidergirl3 - No problem, and again, sorry! I couldn't believe it when I finally noticed this week!
